Bexley S.S. No. 2, built in 1864, provided education to the Dumonts that settled in Bexley Township, ON in about 1850. In this spartan school they learned reading, righting & rithmatic, as well as English. The teacher at this school is likely the person that originally taught the students to spell the name Dumont as Demoe.
