I am currently researching the surnames Demmert, Dammert, Crossette, Crossett, du Crozat and Roth, as well as others.

The Demmert and Dammert surnames are from Koblentz, Germany. The Roth surname is from Wittlich, Germany. My great-grandfather Robert Dammert (a with an umlaut) came to America from Koblentz, Germany when he was around 15 years old. His name was changed from Dammert to Demmert upon his arrival. He was born in 1864, died in 1944. In America he met my great-grandmother Margaretha Roth and they were married. She was born in 1868. Margaretha's father's name is Peter Roth. I am searching for any information on these individuals or any of their ancestors.

The Crossette and Crossett surnames are from Ireland, and the surname du Crozat is from France. We have found research that identifies the Crossette/Crossett/Crossit/du Crozat ancestors back to the early 1600s. Huguenot Anthony du Crozat fled France to settle in Ireland during the reign of Louis XIV of France in 1640. The family came to America in 1727. We have not found Anthony's ancestors in France yet.

If you have any information or questions, please feel free to email me. I am a novice in genealogy, but I am learning quickly. I would be glad to share any information that I able to gather on these surnames.
