Researching the deMeulles roots. Research thus far has produced a tree reaching back to the year 1706, when the earliest ancestor was found to be Francois deMeules, born in 1685 in France, Married on the 20th of November 1707 at St. Jean, Isle D'Orlean, Quebec in Canda to Marie Catherine Dubeau and died at that same location on the 20th of October 1754. There is a strong indication that Francois was the son of Jacques deMeulles, the 5e Intendant to New France, who served his King in Canada between the years 1682 and 1686, but no link between the two has been positively established this fact. Variations of the family name range from deMeulles to demeulles to demeules to deMeules to all of the above but not including the "s" at the end of the name.
