Thomas Leo Dempsey demps289@comcast.net	The Dempsey Family of Lee County is descended from County Wexford, Ireland. The best information we have is that Lawrence Dempsey arrived at the Port of Philadelphia on 12 April 1850 aboard the Ship Monongahela. His parents, Edward and Catherine Dempsey lived at Ballinamona, The Ballagh, in County Wexford. Lawrence later married Margaret Campbell in Allegheny City, Pennsylvania, and moved to Amboy, Illinois where they eventually acquired a farm of over 200 acres. Jack Dempsey still resides on part of that farm today. If you are interested in this family line, please send us a message.
