Notes for Rev. Jabez Boomer: Reported as family tradition by H. A. Boomer,III: Jabez was a Baptist Preacher. He had 14 children. Jabez moved to Seneca County, Ohio about 1833. He was near Buffalo when it burned. A brother of his was in the Revolutionary War. (This information from the book: History of Dodge County, 1880) Jabez was involved in his church ministry in Warsaw, NY. We can place him there in about 1810. (WFT Archive CD- Elder Jabez Boomer) (Pioneer and General History of Geauga) Jabez Boomer moved from Rhode Island to the State of New York, where he married Miss Hannah Mason, and they had twelve children--Phebe, Aaron P., Eliza M., Chester L., Ruth, Angeline, Joshua M., Emeline D., Edward J., Andrew D., and Jeremiah M. Mr. Boomer came to Auburn in 1835, and settled in the north part of the township, on the Sanford tract, and cleared up his farm. His wife died in 1839. In 1841, he married Miss Achsah Bailey. They had no children. Mr. Boomer died in 1868, aged eighty-four years. He was a minister of the regular Baptist persuasion, and preached more or less for fifty years. Written down on a scrap of paper by H. A. Boomer, II. "My grandfather's E. J. Boomer's family: Aaron, Chester, Andrew, Joshua, Edward, Jerry, Ezra, Ruth, Febe, Angeline, Adeline, Emeline. Father of all was Rev. Jabez Boomer, Baptist Minister." Jabez lived in Hambden, Ohio at the time of his death (Death record, Geauga Co.
