WILLIS NEWTON AND RUTHA BISHOP

LOOKING FOR THE FATHER OF WILLIS NEWTON. HE WAS PROBABLY BORN IN MARYLAND ABOUT 1770-1780. HE MARRIED RUTHA BISHOP, THE DAUGHTER OF STEPHEN BISHOP AND HANNAH SOMONSON OF GEORGIA, AND BY THE EARLY 1800'S HAD MOVED TO CLARKE/MARENGO CO., ALABAMA. THEIR CHILDREN WERE:

  My tree contains information submitted to me by relatives. Most of this information is centered around the following counties in Alabama: Clarke, Marengo, Wilcox and Jackson Co. However, it seems that they came from Maryland and/or North Carolina and made trips through Georgia. Willis married Rutha Bishop in Georgia. In 1845 they sold there land in Clarke Co., Alabama. We find Rutha living with her children in Texas. We have not been able to locate Willis in Texas but we know that Rutha died about 1860 in Texas.
