| Family lore passed down from my paternal grandmother leads me to believe that our family descended from Richard and Abigail Lippincott who immigrated from England to Mass., then R.I., then N.J. in the mid 1600's. So far, I've been able to trace back to Martin LIPPINCOTT, b. abt 1735 in N.J. I descend from his grandson Tunis, b. 1801 in N.J. Tunis moved his family across the Delaware River to Bucks County to set up farming in 1840. I'm following two FAUST lines: one on my mother's side and one on my father's. Because the are from the same geographic area (Bucks County, PA), I'm anticipating these two lines may merge eventually. Albert HANS, my 2nd ggrandfather, served in the Civil War in the 3rd New Jersey Calvary along with his brother, Peter. Their report includes pertinent Civil War history. My RUTH family settled in Bucks, Northampton, and Monroe Counties. If your Ruths are also from there, it's more than likely our trees will connect. The Ruth report is my largest report but still has many holes. Please help me fill them. Other PA and NJ families I'm researching are MANN, MOYER, SMITH, EISELY, MCCUE/MCHUGH, MICHEL/MICHAEL, MORGAN, and REIGELEIN. I welcome contact from other researchers and/or family members. Looking forward to hearing from you. Happy researching, Karen |
