- Census does not list individual family members, instead just tallies males and females of different ages. Tunis lists 2 males under five years of age; 2 males over five and under ten; 1 male over twenty and under thirty (himself); and 1 female over twenty and under thirty ( his wife).

1840 Census - The census still does not list each household member by name, just sex and age. There is an older male and older female living with Tunis. Is it Martha Smith (from 1850 Census) and her husband?

1860 Census - Address: Bridgeton District, Bucks County, PA. From job titles and real estate values, it appears as if Tunis owns a farm and his two of his sons (James and John) live and work on it.
