Those we love remain with us,
for the love itself lives on.
Cherished memories never fade,
because a loved one is gone.
Those we love can never be,
more than a thought apart.
For as long as there is memory,
they’ll live on in my heart.

Preparing my family history has been like time travel for me. I have learned more from researching my long-gone relatives than I ever learned in history classes in school. My imagination has been stimulated by the sometimes frustrating absences of information and running into "brick walls" in searching for links to my ancestors. When a new fact is found, a new piece of flesh and bone is added to the long dead body of an ancestor and they become more alive in my mind. Family stories and legends just add color and personality to deceased family members. I'm sure there are mistakes, errors, and omissions in my information published here. I have collected information from my own life experiences, personal memorabilia and photographs, family offerings, visits to courthouses, museums, libraries and many, many cemeteries. I have attempted to document my sources and resources. However, I would appreciate any corrections and comments. I look forward to hearing from anyone interested in my old family. Susie Dent
