Gaultier (Walter) fled France to England in the late 1600ds because, as a Huegenot, he would rather swear AT the King than BY him. Depew's in France were very wealthy and the King owed them a great deal of money.Gauliter's son John came to America in 1726, married Catherine Shepherd and here we are. We come through Isaac, James,Elbert James Monroe, Carl Vernon and Myron V Depew.
James Monroe Depew's sons were Earl and Carl Vernon. My grandfather CV had sons Myron Maxwell Vernon (my father) and Wayne. My Uncle Wayne's son was Wayne Jr.
