The Hearn FamilyUpdated September 5, 2000 |

| I am trying to find information about the Hearn family, known in the United States as O'Hearn. They came from Ireland to Newfoundland in the late eighteenth century. They lived in Brigus, Western Bay, Petty Harbor, St. John's, Goulds, and Renews. They came to the U. S. A. about 1889. They lived in Burrillville, Rhode Island for about ten years. Due to terminal illness of John Joseph, the father of this family, they went back to Newfoundland about 1900. Two of the sons returned to the Boston area about 1910.They were nicknamed the Dempsey brothers and many fishermen at Boston Fish Pier knew them by that name. |
