The Derfinyak family dates back to 1780's. No further information has been located prior to that time. Family emigrated to the United States in 1910 through Ellis Island. Extensive research has been done using a genealogist who translated the microfilm from church records in Hungary. Other documents from parents and grandparents have been found and translated which led to much of the obtained information. Other items have been added by verbal verification from relatives that confirmed the existing information. Our family has been linked to at least four or more other family trees. Some of these names are Rushing, Purcells, Jones, DeWeese, and of course others through marriages. This entire tree has been uploaded to the World Family Tree for all to view and find relatives. Hopefully, this will lead to others providing information they may have.
