The Blackhall House in the Acadian Village
James Blackhall built his house into the side of the hill to provide protection from the Northwest winds as was the custom in Scotland. It was built in 1822 and it was the first frame house to be built in Caraquet, New Brunswick. The house was move to the Acadian Historical Village in 1976. It is the only non-Acadian building in the village.
