Immigration to Ellis Island in 1900 was the first time he was here.He was single at the time.Came over second time before March 1908.His wife and 2 children came after he did.Manifest states that he was going to Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.No Relatives in USA.Ship was the Trave.

BELLE VERNON MAN HURT; FALLS OFF CAR
Joseph Walkush, 67, of 715 Hill Street, Belle Vernon, is a patient in the Charleroi-Monessen hospital suffering of injuries sustained when he fell from an automobile while riding through Monessen last evening.
Walkush was admitted to the hospital at 11:30 last night with lacerations of the face and a fractured right forearm.

WALKUSH FAMILY REUNION ATTRACTS LARGE CROWD
BELLE VERNON- Approximately 45 members of the Walkush family gathered recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Walkush, of Hill Street for a family reunion.The affair was on the lawn of the home and featured games, dancing, races for the children and a baseball game.Many prizes were awarded the winner.
During an intermission in activity a basket picnic dinner was enjoyed.
Guests attended from Pittsburgh, Perryopolis, Tier Hill, Belle Vernon, Monessen, Newell, Waltersburg, Star Junction, and Fayette City.Melvin Walkush, who is home on naval leave from Washington D.C. was present.
The only member of the family unable to attend was Mrs. David Boyd, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walkush, who resides in Florida.

On Remembrance card it states that his birthday is March 17, 1877, but due to census information, i believe it was really 1873.

JOSEPH F WALKUSH
Joseph Francis Walkush, 80, 715 Hill St., Belle Vernon, died yesterday at 11:31 a.m. in the Brownsville Hospital.
Mr. Walkush was a member of the St. Sebastian R.C. Church, Belle Vernon and a member of the Catholic Jednota Lodge, Monessen.He was a retired coal miner.
Surviving are three sons, Carl, Cleveland, Ohio, and Joseph Jr and Melvin, both of Belle Vernon, eight daughters, Mrs. George (Anna) Moxin, Perryopolis, Mrs. Clarence (Helen) McCullough, Mrs. William (Mildred) Miller, and Mrs. Donald (Cecelia) Sweitzer all of Belle Vernon; Mrs. Harry (Augustine) Ezolt, Monessen, Mrs. Jerome (Mary) Altieri, Pittsburgh, Mrs. Albert (Francis) Curcio, Newell; Mrs. David (Irene) Boyd, Miami, Fla.,; thirty one grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Friends are being received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home, Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, from 1 to 5 and from 7 to 10 p.m.
