Teresa Mary Bradley (daughter of James Jr. Bradley and Mary Doherty)13, 14, 15 was born September 12, 1882 in Bunacrick, Binnion, Clonmany, County Donegal, Ireland, and died October 16, 1965 in Woodbury, New Jersey, USA16. She married James Daniel Devlin on November 23, 1919 in St. James Church, Boston, Mass.17, son of Daniel Devlin and Sarah Harkin.

Teresa's birthday is listed in the Clonmany parish register, Volume 1, Page 236. Her godparents were listed as Thomas ? and Ellen Doherty.

1901 IRISH CENSUS

At the time of the 1901 Irish Census Teresa was age 16 (DOB 1884/5). She resided with her parents in her Grandparents' (John and Annie Doherty) home. Teresa worked as a seamstress. She was able to read but not write.

EMIGRATION

Teresa first entered the United States on April 19, 1903 at the reported age of 20. She traveled aboard the SS Mayflower which departed Liverpool, England on April 9th of the same year. Teresa was listed on page 283, line 6, entry number 40004, as being single and a servant. She reported her last residence as the Cross in Clonmany. At the time of her arrival Teresa indicated that she would be staying with her aunt Grace Bradley at 35 Chelsea Street in Charlestown, Boston, Massachusetts. Teresa had one pound sterling (or $5.00) with her when she arrived.

Teresa returned to Ireland at a later date. She was listed on the 1911 Census of Ireland as being the daughter of Mary Bradley. Teresa's age was listed as 28 and her occupation as a seamstress. She could both read and write. The census was dated April 2, 1911. Teresa returned to the United States shortly after the census was completed.

Teresa emigrated to the United States on the S.S. Caledonia from Londonderry to New York, NY on May 21, 1911. At that time she was traveling with her brother Patrick and both were planning on staying, once again, with their Aunt, Grace Bradley at 22 Walker Street, Charletown. Teresa was listed on page 68, line 7 and Patrick on line 6. Teresa's age was listed as 22 and she was single. She was 5'4'' tall with fair skin, fair hair and blue eyes. Teresa reported that she was entering as a Non-Resident Alien. Her occupation on the ship's manifest was listed as Store Room Worker. She also reported that she had previously resided in the United States between 1902-1911 in Charlestown.

Her address at the time of her marriage on November 23, 1919 was 22 Melrose St. Boston, MA.

NATURALIZATION

Teresa's Alien Registration Number number was 2746639. Her Naturalization Petition Number was 324068. Her naturalization certificate number was 7439834 on list 1399. She was listed as having gray hair, blue eyes, and being 5'3" tall. She weighed, 125 lbs at age 72 (January 26, 1955). Theresa had a lame left leg (this was a result of her giving birth to one of her children (it is unknown which birth caused her lame leg).
