Margaret Hubbard (b. 1754, d. April 08, 1813)

Margaret Hubbard (daughter of Nathaniel Hubbard and Mary Quintard) was born 1754, and died April 08, 1813 in Burton Parish, Sunbury County, N.B., Canada⁴⁶⁶. She married Gabriel deVeber II in Stamford, conn., U.S.A.⁴⁶⁷, son of Gabriel deVeber I and Mary Burke.

Notes for Margaret Hubbard:
Margaret Hubbard married Colonel Gabriel DeVeber and lived at Burton. The DeVeber land Willow Bank was on a scenic section of the river, located 18 miles down from Fredericton and just below where the Burton wharf now stands. The land was eventually sold to the Gilberts from Gilberts Island. The DeVebers at that time moved on to Gagetown. Source: Attachment to letter from F.W. In a handwritten letter signed by Lucy Hubbard (Mrs. F.W. ) from F.W. Hubbard of Fredericton, N.B. and dated 1993--03-08, the following is text is purported to be from a grave site in Row B, No. 12 of Christ Church Maugerville graveyard: "In memory of Mrs. Margaret DEVEBER the amiable and beloved wife of Gabriel Deveber Esq. High Sherrif of this country who departed this life at Burton on the 8th day of April 1813 in the 55th year of her life. Greatly lamented by her family and friends but more especially by him who knew her best. A pattern of unaffected goodness in all the enduring incidents of life."
