Nancy Leonard Moore, Colonel Chipman's wife, came from the famous Moore Family - her Grandfather, Captain Thomas William Moore was a famous participant in the American Revolution having joined the British Army in Halifax in 1776, and being in charge of Savannah (Georgia) for a while, during a famous siege.
