Press clipping: Some Notes on the Paddock Family (held by George A. deVeber) "Dr. Adino Paddock began his practise in Kingston in 1808, and four years later married Nancy Lyon, daughter of John Lyon, and acquired the old Lyon home on Lot No. 5. His practise covered a large portion of the country and many tales are still told of the brusque but kindly old doctor who on horseback with bulging saddle boxes travelled the first made roads of the country for half a century. Of the miles he travelled in the long years of his practise there is no record but this, told with tender intention by the older people of the region, that no matter what the distance, the time or the weather, he never refused a call in aid of sickness or to relieve suffering.
His son, Dr. Adino 3rd, succeeded him in practise in Kingston and faithfully maintained the family traditions for medical skill, and kindly, faithful attention to the welfare of the people of the parish." (partial content)
