1. WILLIAM¹ ADAMS was born Feb 3, 1593/94 in Shropshire, England, and died 1661 in Ipswich, Essex, MA. He married WIDOW 1619.

Notes for WILLIAM ADAMS:
He came to America in the Spring of 1628 and settled first at Cambridge, then at Newtown, where he was made Freeman in 1639. He moved to Ipswich before 1642. He was one of the first settlers there, as can be seen in land grant records. He was probably one of the first 100 persons to settle in New England. William left a Will, of which there is no trace, except that it was proved at Ipswich Court on Mar 25, 1662. In 1668, Nathaniel and Samuel executed Articles of Agreement concerning the estate of their father, in which reference was made to the Will, to their mother as living, to their brother John and sisters. William, Jr. died in testate and administration was granted by Ipswich Court to his father and brother John; upon the father's death, Nathaniel, was put in his place.

Notes for WILLIAM ADAMS, JR.:
In May 1635, at age 15, he came to America in the sailing ship Elizabeth and Ann. He moved to Ipswich where he made a land exchange in 1651.
