Descendants of Robert Deeble

      7. John2 Deeble (Robert1)56,57,58,59 was born Abt. 161860,61,62, and died 07 Oct 1646 in Springfield, Massachusetts63,64. He married Sarah ???65. She died 13 Sep 1656 in Stamford, Connecticut65.

Notes for John Deeble:
"From the dates of birth of John's children it can be supposed that he was born about 1620 which would make him the right age to have been a younger brother of Thomas and son of Robert. Many records say he died in Stamford, Conn. It must be remembered that in 1647 the town limits of Springfield and Windsor met ay Warehouse Point. In 1646 the Widow Deeble was granted a house lot on the Street, Springfield so I say he died in Springfield. In Feb. 1665 his son Zachariah bought of Joseph Gillet 3 acres in Windsor bounded on the north by Thomas Deble and the South by Israel Dibble. He sold this a year later to Ebenezer Dibble, and removed to Stamford. All records point to a close relationship between Thomas, John, and Abraham.", VanBuren Lamb, Jr., "Dibble Genealogy," "Your Ancestor, A National Magazine of Genealogy and Family History", and 0-2. VanBuren Lamb, Jr., "Dibble Family," "Your Ancestors", Volume 3, No. 11-12 Nov & Dec 1949: 0-2.

"One record says he was killed by Indians.
His widow married secondly 7 Sept. 1647 in Stamford, Conn. William Graves. He died 1679 in Newton, L. I.
The first book of records for Springfield, Mass. (named changed 1641 from Aggawam) begins with an agreement dated 14 May 1636. In Jan. 1641 John Deeble first appears as an inhabitant. The Southern boundary of Springfield at this time touched the Northern boundary of Windsor, Conn. (about where Windsor Locks is now located. See the American Genealogist by D.l. Jacobus Vol.33, pg. 43.
1646/7 the widow Deeble was granted a home lot on the street in Springfield, Mass.
A Samuel Deeble (probably son of Thomas) received land in Northfield from William Graves which he gives to Zachariah.
Children are only ones I can find proof of. " - Lamb, VanBuren Jr., "Line of Jethro Dibble," no absolute proof son of Robert Deeble.

      8. Abraham2 Dible (Robert1 Deeble)72 was born Abt. 162073,74, and died 31 Dec 1690 in Suffield, Hartfield, Connecticut75,76. He married Lydia Tift77,78, daughter of William Tift. She was born 1648 in Connecticut79, and died 31 Dec 1690 in Suffield, Conn.80.

Notes for Abraham Dible:
"From the births of his children between 1648 and 1671 it would appear that he was born about 1625 and could easily be the younger brother of Robert, Thomas and John. He moved about more than the others having lived in Dorchester, Mass.; Boston, Mass.; Farmington, Conn; 1650-1665; Haddam, Conn. 1665-1673; Windsor, Conn. 1676; and Suffiedl, Conn. until his death. The spelling of his name consequently suffered many variations in the hands of various town clerks and ministers, being spelled Dyble, Dybble, Dibiall, Diball, Diboll, and Dibol. The latter seemed to be used for many years by his descendants. The court records of Northhampton, Mass. preserve the inventory and account of his estate. The settlement after a court fight divided land between Benjamin, Abigail alias Elgarr, Hannah, and Lydia. He was fined for traveling on the Sabath." , Van Buren Lamb, Jr., "Dibble Genealogy",pg 144, 0-3 & VanBuren Lamb, Jr., "Dibble Family," "Your Ancestors", Volume 3, No. 11-12 Nov & Dec 1949: 0-3.

"The settlement of his estate is in the Hampshire County, Mass. Probate Records at Northapton, Mass. There are also land records in Springfield, Mass.
He had seven children. Apparently, there were only four living in 1690, for Abigail, Hannah and Lydia sued Benjamin for taking all of the estate." - Ralph Bingham Dibble, "Genealogy of the DIBBLE FAMILY of Springfield and Southwick Massachusetts"
