Descendants of Michele diBona

Generation No. 2

2. Barbato2 diBona (Michele1) was born Abt. 1746, and died 19 September 1812 in Celenza, Province of Capitanata, Italy. He married Antonia Santone. She died 30 August 1801 in Riccia, Campobasso, Italy.

Children of Barbato diBona and Antonia Santone are:
  i.   ANGELAMARIA3 DIBONA, b. Abt. 1792; d. Unknown; m. TOMMASO GRASSI, 09 February 1816, Riccia, Campobasso, Italy; b. Abt. 1789; d. Unknown.
ii.   MATTEO DIBONA, b. Abt. 1792; d. 14 January 1817, Riccia, Campobasso, Italy.
  Notes for MATTEO DIBONA:
Witnesses to Matteo's death were: Felippo di Buono, uncle, age 60 years; and Costanzo diBuono, age 70 years.

iii.   GIUSEPPE DIBONA, b. Abt. 1797; d. 07 July 1847, Riccia, Campobasso, Italy.

3. Costanzo2 diBona (Michele1) was born Abt. 1746 in Riccia, Campobasso, Italy See Notes., and died 08 March 1822 in Riccia, Campobasso, Italy. He married Antonia Marolla, daughter of Nicola Marolla and Giovanna Ciocca. She was born Abt. 1751, and died 21 February 1813 in Riccia, Campobasso Province, Italy.

Notes for Costanzo diBona:
While Costanzo's death record in Mar 1822 gives his age as 70 years, several prior references to his age indicate that he was well into his 70s when he died.
In 1812, the death record of Pasquale Cosimino diBona is witnessed by Costanzo, who's age is given as 66 years. In 1817, the death record of Matteo diBuono is witnessed by Costanzo, who's age is given as 70 years. As it is likely that the information in his own death record intended to indicate he was in his 70s, and given the additional references to his age at earlier date, I am recording his birth year as about 1746.

Children of Costanzo diBona and Antonia Marolla are:
  i.   ACHILLE3 DIBONA, b. Abt. 1786; d. Unknown; m. LUCIA MOFFA, 30 March 1811, Riccia, Campobasso, Italy; b. Abt. 1791; d. Unknown.
  Notes for ACHILLE DIBONA:
It is distinctly possible that Achille and Domenico are the same son of Costanzo.
I postulate this on the fact that births to Domenico and Lucia Moffa begin to be recorded in succession soon after the marriage of "Achille" DiBuono to Lucia Moffa, but there are not births listed with Achille as the father.

ii.   DOMENICO DIBONA, b. Abt. 1790; d. 12 June 1854, Riccia, Campobasso, Italy; m. MARIA ROMANO; b. Unknown; d. Unknown.
  Notes for DOMENICO DIBONA:
Domenico's surname is given as diBuono, not diBona, in his death record. During his lifetime, the diBona name evolved into diBuono.

Domenico's death record indicates that he was a widower. It further states that his deceased wife, Maria Romano, left him with a son 3 years of age. This implies that Maria may have been younger than he and thus may not have been his first wife.

Domenico's death record lists his brother, Pasquale, age 60 years, contadino living in Riccia, as a witness to his death.

iii.   URBANO DIBONA, b. Abt. 1791, Riccia, Campobasso, Italy; d. Unknown; m. NICOLETTA VINCENZA RICCI, 22 May 1820, Riccia, Campobasso, Italy; b. Abt. 1799, Riccia, Campobasso, Italy; d. Unknown.
Marriage Notes for URBANO DIBONA and NICOLETTA RICCI:
Civil Marriage Act was not provided on the LDS microfilm. However, the Solemn Promise To Marry Act, which provided the information about the bethrothed, was followed by the Indicazione which stated that the religious marriage took place at the Church of Sana Maria Assunta in Riccia on 22 May 1820

iv.   PASQUALE DIBONA, b. Abt. 1794; d. Unknown.
  Notes for PASQUALE DIBONA:
Pasquale appears as a witness to Domenico diBuono's death and is listed as Domenico's brother, age 60, a contadino living in Riccia.

4. Filippo Giacomo2 diBona (Michele1) was born 01 May 1759 in Riccia, Campobasso, Italy, and died 29 August 1826 in Riccia, Campobasso, Italy. He married (1) Coronata Iapalucci. She died 27 August 1789. He married (2) Angiola Fanelli, daughter of Giuseppe Fanelli and Giovanna Sciandra. She was born Abt. 1768, and died 15 January 1818 in Riccia, Campobasso, Italy. He married (3) Carmina Mignogna 14 March 1818 in Riccia, Campobasso Province, Italy, daughter of Innocenzo Mignogna and Felicia Moffa. She was born 01 June 1776 in Riccia, Campobasso Province, Italy, and died Unknown.

Notes for Filippo Giacomo diBona:
Unless there were two Filippo diBona's having the same ages and living at the same time period, it appears that Filippo was first married to Coronata Iapalucci, secondly to Angiola Fanelli and thirdly to Carmina Mignogna though the civil and/or church records for the first two marriages needed for actual substantiation are not in hand. There are however, many records of births, marriages and deaths of persons to whom he is listed as being father, uncle or grandfather and for which his stated age always falls in the proper sequence and magnitude to give credence to the hypothesis that he is the one, multiple-married Filippo diBona.
Coronata Iapalucci died on 27 August 1789. Filippo and Angiola Fanelli had a daughter, Coronata Saveria, in 1793. Angiola Fanelli died 15 Jan 1818. On 14 March 1818 he married his 3rd wife, Carmina Mignogna.
Based on the above hypothesis, I have proceeded to add all those persons descended from Filippo diBona and Coronata Iapalucci to this file.

Children of Filippo diBona and Coronata Iapalucci are:
  i.   SAVERIO3 DIBONA, b. Abt. 1784, Riccia, Campobasso Province, Italy; d. 22 November 1830, Riccia, Campobasso Province, Italy; m. ELENA SCIANDRA, 14 December 1820, Riccia, Campobasso Province, Italy; b. Abt. 1793, Riccia, Campobasso Province, Italy; d. Unknown.
  Notes for SAVERIO DIBONA:
In the civil marriage record of Saverio diBona to Elena Sciandra, his name is given as Francesco Saverio and he is stated to be 36 years old (thus,b.abt 1784). This is odd and confusing because Filippo diBona and Coronata Iapalucci have another son born to them in abt. 1789 whom they name Francesco while their older son, Saverio (or Francesco Saverio) is alive. Without Saverio's church birth/baptism record, this confusion cannot be solved. To do: obtain the church birth record.

In Saverio's civil record of his death at age 46, one witness is Michele diBona, age 48. This may be an older brother of Saverio, possibly the eldest child of Filippo whom could be named after Filippo's father Michele diBona. To do: Find Michele's civil death record in the Riccia Stato Civile.

Marriage Notes for SAVERIO DIBONA and ELENA SCIANDRA:
In the civil marriage record, Saverio is listed as Francesco Saverio. This is odd and confusing because Filippo diBona and Coronata Iapalucci have another son born to them in abt. 1789 whom they name Francesco while their older son, Saverio (or Francesco Saverio) is alive. Without Saverio's church birth/baptism record, this dilemma cannot be solved. To do: obtain the church birth record.
Saverio's and Elena's church wedding was 18 Dec 1820 in Chiesa Santa Maria Assunta in Riccia.

ii.   FRANCESCO DIBONA, b. Abt. 1789; d. 23 September 1809, Riccia, Campobasso Province, Italy.

Child of Filippo diBona and Angiola Fanelli is:
6. iii.   CORONATA SAVERIA3 DIBONA, b. Abt. 1792; d. Unknown.

5. Vitale2 diBona (Michele1) was born Abt. 1761, and died 25 November 1817 in Riccia, Campobasso, Italy. He married Maria Iapalucci Unknown. She was born Abt. 1762, and died Unknown.
