Welcome To The Dickieson Family Information Request Page

I am looking for more information on the Dickieson family. My Great Grandfather had the same name as mine, Thomas Dickieson. He was born in the area of Guelph, Ontario, around 1857, and we know that he married his cousin, Mary Ann Bell on or around 1880, and lived and farmed in Manitoba around this time, passing away in the 1900s. There are links to Southern Manitoba, and southern Ontario, Canada. This tracked our family back to Norway (via Roxbourghshire, Scotland and Northumberland, England). My Grandfather's name was Robert Dickieson, born 1881 in Strathclaire, Manitoba and died 1964 in Lipton Saskatchewan. He was married to Flora Christina Crawford, but little information is known of marriage details. This connects us to southern Ontario, the Kingston area, where the Crawfords were from. Anyone having information on this subject will find that I am very receptive and willing to share or trade genealogical information. Incidentally, Robert and Flora had five children: Florence May, Oriole Jean, Robert Gordon, Daisy Isabell, and my father; Ralph Edwin. All except Florence Jean Schaeffer are deceased. They were all born in Saskatchewan, probably on the farm which was just outside of Findlater Sask, near Buffalo Pound Lake not too distant from both Moose Jaw and Regina, Saskatchewan. I have been in communication with one of my uncle Gordon's family, and he and his siblings have submitted some information for the files. I have yet to meet him, but soon, I hope. I attended a Dickieson Family Reunion in 2005 in New Glascow, PEI, and all the other attendees bore a marked family resemblance to my immediate family, so we must share common roots.

NOTE: The information on the generations of both the Dickiesons and the Cawsons (my mothers side of the family) was not correct in the family trees that were posted here, as I had been given data from an unreliable source, so I have removed all pages until I can correct them. And also please be advised that ALL surname Dickieson families are connected, if only by way of spelling it right, so if you have the surname Dickieson, and wonder if we are possibly related - as far as I am concerned, the answer is yes.
