The Ann Merriman Dietz Home Page

Information on the lives and activities of our early Merriman ancestors has been difficult to obtain and is still very sketchy. My intent has been to trace beyond 1800, when the Merrimans settled in the Ohio River Valley between Glenfield and Beaver (Allegheny/Beaver Counties) PA. I have never been able to find the families before they are somewhat connected in this area; did they come from Baltimore Merrymans or Connecticut Merrimans?
June 1794 Allegheny Co,PA Court Docket, Jeremiah Wright sued Frederick Merriman,Sr., Frederick Merriman,Sr and wife,Ruth, Richard Merriman, John Merriman and Frederick Merriman,Jr., assume for squatting on his land. Frederick Merriman paid taxes in 1791 Hopewell Twp, Allegheny Co,PA.

My direct line is thru Samuel Merriman and Wealthy, his wife, who are on the land in 1798. Who is his ancestor?
