The Wehr Family Home Page

I am researching the Wehr family ancestors and descendants of Christian Wehr, born 1802 (or 1809). One report states born in "Strassburg, Germany" (or West Prussia?). He imigrated to Brienne, Bessarabia, Russia in 1816. I am puzzled - I have not found his parents' names listed as coming to Brienne in 1816, only his and he would have been only about 14 years old. He married Eleonora Keppe 5-20-1828. His son Ferdinand (Ernest) Wehr married Christina Mehrer and they came to North Dakota in 1885, and raised a family of ten children, one of them, John Wehr, is my gandfather. My data includes these ten families and their descendants. Also I have data on the children of Christian and Eleonora. Several of Ferdinand's sisters also came to the Dakotas. At present, I am trying to trace my Great Great Grandfather, Christian Wehr back to his German birthplace.
