DIECKMANN FAMILY FASSIFERN VALLEY QLD AUSTRALIA

I am researching the Dieckmann family from Germany. The Dieckmanns came from an area north of Berlin. Today, the villages are in the State of Brandenburg, and Kreis of Templin. The area is also known as Uckermark.

Carl Fredrick Dieckmann married Friedericke Wilhelmina Rohle, I have no details of this marriage in Germany. Australian records show that they had two sons, Carl (Charles)Friedrich Dieckmann (6/11/1810-31/10/1886 and Christian Friedrick Dieckmann (1821-29/12/1887. Both sons and their families emigrated from Germany to Australia in 1870 and 1865 respectively leaving their parents in Germany.

The Dieckmanns settled in the Fassifern Valley in Queensland Australia and worked the land in farming and the timber industry. Research has revealed over 1000 descedants of the Dieckmanns. In 1999 we had a family reunion of the descendants of Carl Dieckmann at the Kalbar State School in the Fassifern Valley.

We are still trying to obtain information on the parents who remained in Germany.

Any information would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have.
