Greetings everyone. In creating this home page, my goal is to keep in touch with those relatives I don't often see and perhaps to meet a few I don't yet know.
In my research, I have encountered several stumbling blocks, and I would love to hear from anyone researching the same families I am. The families are as follows:
*The Wrights from Letcher County, Kentucky (kin to the infamous "Bad John Wright" who was sheriff in Wise County, Virginia)
*The David Brown family (some of the original settlers of Stockdale, Ohio in Pike County)
*The David Sampson family of Stockdale, Ohio

Mary Austin married William J. Sampson, son of David Sampson, Jr. and Nancy Bennett. Her husband fought in the Civil War, and he enlisted in 1863 around the same time his daughter Martha was born.

Emma Vanfossin Sampson, wife of Rufus Sampson with Martha Sampson Brown. Both Martha and Rufus were William J and Mary Austin Sampson's children.
