Here is a list of the more prominent names in my family:
ALLBEE - BEMIS - CARLISLE - DAGGETT - DIDIER - DIEBOLT - DOOLITTLE - EDELL - FOSTER - GAGE - GOEY - GOLDSMITH - HALL - HESS - HOPKINS - LAWRENCE - OSBORN - PENN - STANDISH - TUTTLE - WADDELL - WHITNEY - YOULL

BEMIS - descendents are from Amos and Reuben, two brothers who came to Baltimore, VT prior to 1794. Between the two brothers, they owned a lot of property and the farm owned by Amos is still in the family, and is owned by his g-g-grandson, George Cook. I am a descendent of Amos Bemis, but I also have extensive information on Reuben. My thanks to Frank & Lois Mueller for the endless information they sent to me.

DOOLITTLE (WHITNEY) - descendents are from Thomas Doolittle b. 1511 in England. I have quite a bit of information on the Doolittles thanks to Edward Doolittle, Genealogists for The Doolittles of America. An interesting fact about the Doolittles is that my grandfather was born a Doolittle but his name was changed to Whitney when he was a young boy. So our Whitneys are inter-twined with our Doolittles. This was discovered by my Mother, Charlotte Whitney Carlisle when she was looking for her Father's birth certificate.

GAGE - descendents come from England and I have information dating back to 1066. I have quite a bit of information on the Gage family with many thanks to Brenda Henry, and Robert Dickerson.

GOLDSMITH - descendents are prominent in VT, and NH. My g-g-g-grandfather's(James Walker Goldsmith) home is the Daniel Foster Historical Home in Langdon, NH. The LAWRENCE family is inter-twined with the Goldsmiths and I have quite a bit of information on these two familys.

OSBORN - I am told and have papers showing that the OSBORN family are descendents from William PENN but I have not been able to establish a proven link as yet.

CARLISLE and HALL - I have info starting with WILLIAM CARLISLE b. in Scotland, d. 1757, m. Mary Franks. Their son WILLIAM b. 25 May 1757. My granfather is Ralph Hall Carlisle. I have not yet traced the HALL family.

HOPKIN and PERRY - These familys are from my father's mother and I have limited information on these branches and would like to find out more. These family members are from VT. My grandmother LENA HOPKINS b.1916 m. RALPH CARLISLE b.1896.

DIEBOLT - I found some DIEBOLD relatives! I discovered that our name was originally spelled DIEBOLDT. When the DIEBOLDT boys left home their father told them he didn't care if they changed the spelling of their last name to simplify it. Simon dropped the "T" and his brother George dropped the "D". I have met Simon DIEBOLDs relatives and filled in some blanks. I also discovered George DIEBOLDT's twin brother's name is Frank, he died the day of his birth. I am told that Bridgett DIEBOLDT DIEMERT was the first Postmistress in the town Dieboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada. Now known as Orkney, Canada. If anyone has info about this town, please email me.

Family members come from VT, CT, NY, NH, MA, IA, MT, CA, ENGLAND, SCOTLAND, IRELAND, FRANCE, CANADA, and GERMANY.

I would like to thank my Mother, Charlotte Whitney Carlisle for her hard work in starting our family genealogy. She did all the "leg" work many years ago and gave me a great start to the family history.
