Find Family

Updated July 25, 2007

I live in Saint Louis, Missouri and have just began researching my family. My maiden name was Murawski and my grandparents came to American in the early 1900s. All I know about them is my Grandfather came here from Poland to join his two brothers, and my Grandmother came here with her mother and siblings from Germany (we think). My Grandmother's last name was Nybak. I would like to trace the Murawskis and Nybaks back to Europe.

My Mother's maiden name was Sheppard and I know that her grandmother was born in an English town called South Kilworth. The Sheppards settled here in St. Louis and farmed. I also want to find out more about them.

My Maternal Grandmother was born Ruth Birnie (1891) and her father (Robert) was from Aberdeen, Scotland. I know a lot about the Birnies and have traced her mother's family back to the late 1700's here in the South. The maternal side lived primarily in the Piedmont, Wayne County area of Missouri although some lived in Texas for awhile. The main family name I have information on is McFarland, but through bible entries, newspaper clippings and letters - I have traced back to the following names: Mary Catherine Pettit (her father John Larrimore was born in 1782 in Virginia - parents Benjamin & Rebecca Larrimore), Sarah Summers Williams (from North Carolina). I want to find out more about the Larrimores, Pettits and Williams.

I'd appreciate any information on the above mentioned ancestors and if I can assist anyone else, please let me know.
