* Means Name has been change to protect the identity.

My story is very complicated because my dad was adopted at birth.
My Dad's Birth Name was Cartledge/Quigley....he was adopted when he was a newborn to Imrie and Doris Heacock.

My dad's birthmother has since passed on. I never really got to know her very well...
and my dad's adopted parents are both passed on too.

I really want to tell my story but I need to change some names for the protection of their families.

I will tell my story.
________________________________________________________________
Back when I was about 19 years old I discovered that the picture that hung on our wall was that of my Father's Birthfather, I will call him, *Bill. My Dad was told that *Bill died when the ship he was on went down during WW2.

But I won't start there, I will go back even farther to tell you where it began with my father.

My father's birthmother, Margaret who has since passed, was very young when she got pregnant with my father. The man whom got her pregnant was in the Navy and was gone. Margaret, I am sure was very scared and wanted to do what was right for her baby.
Margaret’s sister Harriet had a solution. The Heacock family who lived next door to her wanted to have kids of their own but didn’t and they wanted to care for the baby. So when the baby, my dad, was born he went to live at the Heacock home. Doris and Imrie Heacock where very proud of their new son.

But as the story goes, Margaret wanted the baby back, and the Heacock’s wanted Margaret to sign adoption papers, neither would budge. My dad ended living with the Heacock’s. As my dad grew he didn’t know that the Quigley family, who lived beside him, was his birth family. He played with their children, were very close to all. When my dad was 21 years old Doris told him that Margaret was his birthmother. At that point we spent a lot of time there, getting to know that family. I broke my leg at his Aunt’s house, where we use to go on Sundays for dinner. I remember it being such a happy time, we were playing in the leaves when my cousin jumped on my leg by accident. (Margaret had adopted a couple of kids at this point, a boy and a girl). I don’t know if she couldn’t have anymore kids or just didn’t.

I will continue with my story over the next couple of days....

Tell me does anyone ever read this stuff? Is anyone sitting on the edge of their seat to see what happens next, its a very exciting story, one of love, determination, dissapointment and faith!

Please let me know if anyone actually reads this stuff!!
