3. WILLIAM2 BROOKS (WILLIAM1) was born February 03, 1752 in Fauquier, Virginia, and died January 24, 1841 in Thompson Valley, Tazewell, Virginia. He married NANCY ANNE LOCKE September 05, 1769 in Fauquier, Virginia. She was born December 04, 1749 in Fauquier, Virginia, and died October 21, 1844 in Thompson Valley, Tazewell, Virginia.

ILLIAM BROOKS:
William Brooks and his wife are buried in Thompson Valley near a dairy barn on a farm now owned by Mr Sam Bishop. On a hillside with plain limestone heads footstone, all without inscriptions. Mr. Corell said , " Here is buried William Brooks, a solder Revolutionary War, and his wife, the first Brooks that came to Tazewell County." May 10, 1977 by the Fort Maiden Spring Chapters of the Daughters of the american Revolution dedicated a service, placing a Headstone of William Brooks, Revolutionary War Patriot. Thirty or more descendants of Willaim were present.
William enlisted in Feb. 1781 in Culperer Co. and served as a private in Capt. Thomas Hamilton's Company. He was drafted a second time in Feb. 1781- at which he was a resident of Botetouri Co., Virginia. Applied for a pension on Sept. 25, 1832 at which he lived in Tazewell Co. He was 81 at the time.
The Bible of William Brooks ( 1752-1841 ) was in the the possession of Mr. William Brooks of Thompson Valley, Tazewell Co., Virginia. The Bible was printed in 1756. Written in ink were the following notes and of his children:
* William Brooks, his book, September 20, 1782
* Left Eauquier in November, 1779
Then it list his children.
His application for his pension is on file at the National Archives in Washington, DC ( R1259, VA.; Micro Series M-804, Roll No. 355 ) His Will is in the Will Book 2, page 177.Probated Jan 1841. His will read: To his wife, Ann, to his daughter Polly, and to his sons Richard,John,Thomas,William and James ; and to his daughters, Margaret Kirk, Nancy Clyburn, heirs of Louisa Asberry, heirs of Sarah Todd, and my granddaughter Sarah Stephenson. Note; Representatives to wit: John Brooks, William Brooks, Richard Brooks, Thomas Brooks, James Brooks, Margaret Kirk, Elizabeth Stephenson, Nancy Clyburn, Sally Todd, Polly Brooks and Louise Asberry.
William Brooks is also mention in the Annals of Tazewell County, Virginia from 1800-1922. He is also in the book called Archives of the Pioneers of Tazewell County, Virginia.
