* Far-Afield With Maggie Dijkstra*

Updated October 27, 2005

Hello to all visitors.

Genealogy is a hobby and a solid source of lost information, in my opinion.

We search out those who came before us to find out a bit more of who we are and how we came to be. This effort makes our personal history more complete and provides a slight sense of satisfaction that perhaps we are not free-floating through space but actually connected to a specific history in a specific past.

And for me, it is recovering lost information because my family, at least to me, did not talk much about the details of who, where, when, or why. So for me, genealogy is an attempt to recover the past and fill in the blanks for today.

You are a welcomed visitor and should you have any questions or updates to share with me, feel free to contact me through my email address.

Warm regards to all,
Maggie Rose
