After wife Mariam Catherine Dillon BAILEY died in JAN 1912, at 68 yrs., Amos returned to visit St. Lawrence Co., NY and Guthrie Co., IW. He died at 68 yrs., back in FL in 1913. The obituary in 'DeFuniak Springs Breeze' read that he 'had been in bad health ever since his return here last fall from an extended trip though the North, but at times hope was expressed that he would recover. He was buried, next to his wife, in the DeFuniak Springs Cemetery'.
