In a letter written October,1857 to his step-brother George DILLON from St.Louis, MO he comments about his failures in business; his not being able to settle in one place for long; and his desire to go south to look for new employment. He mentions that he had been to the Kansas Territory in March of 1886 and found it a 'wild place'. He would die alone two years later, in New Orleans in DEC 1859, at age 27 yrs.
