(b) Vincent Farragut "Ferry" Dillon was born August 26, 1866, in Windsor Twp., near Scottown, the son of William S. Dillon(1838-1907) and Rachel Amanda Reed(1835-1884). He died February 18, 1954 at his family residence in South Point. "Ferry" Dillon was the second of five children born to William and Rachel. Vincent was known by all as "Ferry" Dillon, a nickname he acquired early. The 1880 Windsor Twp. Census lists him as "Farry" Dillon at the age of 14. He was a teacher and prinicipal in Lawrence County schools from Athalia to South Point. From 1911 to 1914, he was a school examiner, and in 1914, he was appointed the first Superintendent of Lawrence County Schools. On September 4, 1895, he married Nettie Alberta Dillon Zimmerman(1873-1955), his childhood sweetheart.
