Front row, Darcus, Lida(Lied), Jacob, Elizabeth and Clarrissa(Clarissy). Maggie and Darcus were twins. Clarrissa and Nancy(not pictured) were twins. Nancy died at the age of 5. As a Civil War veteran, Jacob was a member of the 116th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment, along with his brother, Henry, his cousin, John Dillon, and his uncle, Peter Dillon.(John Dillon and Peter Dillon are also at this site.) He was wounded in the Battle of Piedmont, Virginia. He was later imprisoned at the infamous Andersonville, Georgia, POW camp. Jacob(1841-1904) was born in Monroe Co., OH, and lived there until after the Civil War. In later years he resettled with his wife, Elizabeth Bunting Dillon, to Tyler Co., WV, near the community of Booher, where he and Elizabeth are buried. Jacob was the son of Hugh and Catherine Schultz Dillon, grandson of John and
Rachel Hamilton Dillon and great grandson of Peter and Mary Veghte Dillon, all from Greene Co., PA.(Peter Dillon Sr. is also at this site.)
