(b) The tall fir tree in the near center is located in the Hamilton Cemetery, Summit Twp., Monroe Co., Ohio. Many of the graves in this cemetery are Dillon, Hamilton, Denbow and Morris family members. These families intermarried extensively during their time in this general location in the early-middle 1800s. Located a couple of miles to the west of the present community of Lewisville, John Dillon(abt.1785-1848) and wife, Rachel Hamilton Dillon, with sons, Vincent, Thomas, Peter, Hamilton, John Jr., and Hugh, eked out an existence in these surrounding hills. Sisters Sarah Ellen and Mary married Morris brother, James R. and Elisha. Sister, Nancy, married into the Cox family and lived nearby for a time before moving on to Athens Co. Sister, Rachel, moved with Vincent Sr., his family and father to Lawrence Co. about 1846-7. It is believed, but unverified, that Rachel Hamilton Dillon died about 1840 and may have been buried in this cemetery.
