(b) Elwood Dillon(1836-1927), the son of Hugh Dillon and Catherine Schultz Dillon, lies here buried in the Stockton Cemetery, Rooks Co., Kansas. Born in Monroe Co., Ohio, probably the second child to Hugh and Catherine, and probably the first born in Monroe Co., following the probable resettlement of Hugh and Catherine to Ohio with their extended family. Elwood married Sarah Baker in Allen Co., Indiana in 1862 and later is listed in the 1920 Woodward Co., Oklahoma Census living with the family of his daughter, Rosa May Dillon and her husband, Charles Edwin Mitten. How or when Elwood and Sarah got to Rooks Co., is not clearly understood. However, a descendant has described that "Elwood homesteaded on a quarter section of ground a few miles south of old Webster, where not too many years ago you could see bits of the old sod house they originally lived in." The son of Elwood and Sarah, Jacob Henry Dillon and his wife, Fannie E. Hartman, are known to have lived in or near the community of Webster in Rooks Co., and are also buried in the Stockton Cemetery. Elwood and Sarah are known to have had the following children: Jacob Henry, Benjamin F., Margaret, Susan K. and Rosa May Dillon.
