(a) A brief summary is inscribed on his military service photo here shown. Festus paid the ultimate price in the final week of WWI and is buried in a military cemetery in Belgium. His cemetery photo is profiled elsewhere at this site. Festus was the son of Franklin "Frank" Dillon(1857-1939) and Gilla Mannon Dillon(1874-1953), grandson of John Wylie Dillon, Sr.(1828-1892) and Catherine Sowards(1834-1915), and great grandson of McCager Dillon(1786-1859) and Mary Polly" Callicott(1790-1874). His siblings included Ruth Dillon, who married Delmar Meadows; Frances "Frankie" Dillon, who married Wilbur Curtis Burcham; Floyd J. Dillon, who married Sibyl Adelia Harmon; Delsie Myrtle Dillon; Osten Lewis Dillon, who married Louise Callicoat; Lew A. Dillon; and Mildred Dillon, who married Frank Taylor.
