I am researching the DILLARD family line that began in Culpeper County Virgina, with James DILLARD moving on to Laurens District, South Carolina. James is most commonly referred to as "Capt. James Dillard" of the Revolutionary War. He was married to Mary Ramage. One of their sons was Samuel Dillard who married Lydia DUCKETT and had seven children. Among them my great-grandfather, Thomas Milton Dillard.

Thomas Milton moved from South Carolina to Tallapoosa County, Alabama, married Mary BAKER and moved to Sevier County, Arkansas. They had five children. After Mary's death the young Thomas married Manerva Jane JACKSON who had been his neighbor in Tallapoosa County. I am sure he badly needed someone to care for his children. He and Manerva had seven more children. One of those children was my grandfather, Jerry Clements Dillard. The family lived in Falls County, Texas until the death of Thomas in 1876. Manerva and her children moved to Bell County, Texas.

I am also looking for the ancestors of Louisa BUSH Trousdale, wife of Matthew Cowan TROUSDALE. She was the daughter of Cain BUSH of Smith County, Tennessee.

I am also including the family tree of my mother's family both HUMPHREY and WEEKS. David Crockett Humphrey left Troup County, Georgia with his wife, Saphronia MORRIS and their children to come to Jones County, Texas where they made their home.

Other surnames I am researching are; ADAIR, BAKER, BERRY and BARRY, BUSH, CLEMENTS, COWAN, DRAGOO, DUCKETT, EDWARDS, ESTES, GARNER, GARRETT, GILBERT, HARLAN, HERRING, JACKSON, JOHNSON, McAFEE, McDOWELL, MORRIS, ODELL, RABON, RAMAGE, ROAN, STANFORD, STOKES, TROUSDALE and VARNADO.
