I copied it exactly, I think it's more interesting to see spelling errors! Please note that the name is spelled a couple of different ways within the document, but he signed DILLON. In the name of God, I Michael Dillone of Franklin Township, in the County of Adams, and State of Pennsylvania, being weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory, do make this my last will and testement. In the first, I give my soul into the hands of the Almighty God, who give it to me. Secondly, I order that my boddy shall be deacendly buried at the disgression of my Executors, here in after named. And of the personal property and the real estate God almighty has blessed me with I dispose of it in the following manner. First my personal property that is within the inside of my house that I am the owner of I give and bequeath unto my three daughters here after named, that is my daughter Elisabeth, my daughter Cathrine, my daughter Hannah Margret. Share & share alike to them their heirs or assigns for ever. Secondly, I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph Dilone all my personal property outside of the house together with my rifle gun, to him his heirs and assigns for ever. This I consider as a full compensation for his services rendered to me after he become of age. Thirdly I give and bequeath my real estate containing about forty acres be the same more or less together with the buildings there on erected unto my son Joseph Dellon and my son in law Peter Adams jointly to them their heirs and assigns for ever, subject to the following proviso, the said Joseph Dellone and Peter Adams shal pay the sum of four hundred dollers, out of these four hundred dollers, my Executors here after named shal pay al my just debts and also twelf dollars to the Catholick Church, and also the sum of Eight Dollars to my daughter Teresa intermarried with Mr._________Hoffman, which is to be her share in full of al my real & personal estate what so ever – after my debts funeral expenses and the Eight Dollars I have given to my Daughter Teresa, the ballanc I Dispose of in the following way and maner, first I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph Dellone the sum of fifty dollars to him his heirs & assigns for ever, 2 I give the sum of Forty dollars to my daughter Elisabeth to her heirs and assigns for ever, the balance that is then left I Dispose of it in the following manor to wit the Balance that is then left shal be put in five shares and paid unto my five heirs here after named to commence in this way, two years after my death my son Peter Dellone shal draw his share three years after my death my Daughter Nancy shall shal draw her share four years after my death my daughter Hanah Margret shal draw her share five years my daughter Cathrine shal draw her share six years my daughter Mary shal draw her share. I do here by revoke al former wils mate here tofore & confirm this to be my last wil and testement in witness here of I set my hand and seal this twenty eight July one thousand eight hundred and forty seven. Denwiddie Deputy Registrar for the probate of wills and granting letters of Administration in a for said County personally appeared George Cole and David Newman the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing will and being sworn according to law,, Do say that they were present and saw Michael Dellone the testator sign, seal, publish, pronounce & declare the foregoing instrument of writing as & for his last will & testament and at the time of so doing he was of perfect & sound mind memory & understanding to the best of their knowledge, observations, and belief and that they subscribed their names thereto as witnesses in his presence and at his request & in the presence of each other. Denwiddie Depy For Wm W Harnersly Regr Found Michael Dillon, 66, in the 1850 Census, in Franklin Twp, Adams County, PA He is living with his son Joseph, 24, son Peter, 22 (who is not listed in the will even though it was written 3 years prior), Elizabeth, 33, and Hannah M., 17. Also found a John P. HOFFMAN married to Teresa, in Gettysburg, 1850, and suspect this to be the aforementioned Teresa. Catharine married Daniel KNOUSE in 1851, they are my ggggrandparents.
