THe Ditto's came over from French in around the 1600's.In the book"Register of Huguenot Ancestors,1975"a page in the book shows the following:"French blood in America"by Fosdick mentions DETO as one of the many families of Huguenots who appeared in Pennsylvania and Delaware before the end of the 17th century. DITTO,ABRAHAM (DETO) BORN PROBABLY IN ENGLAND DIED PROBABLY MARYLAND GENERATION 2 JAMES (JEAMES) Maryland record of the name Ditto is of a tax list for the years of 1700-1704 that is a record of James Ditto being in Baltimore county Maryland.I would like to find out more about this Ditto.
