I created this page in an effort to order the information I have about my family for future generations. If you are connect to this at all, or you can suggest any changes, please feel free to email me and I will update it. As background, I think that the spelling of my surname changed before 1869, when John Docketty (formerly of Aberdeen, Scotland) moved to Walthamstow, Essex (now London). I suspect it to be Docherty, Dougherty or Doherty, or any of the many other spellings at that time which developed as people were unable to pronounce it correctly.
