HOWELL Family: To the left, a modern stone commemorates Edward Howell the Emigrant. To the right, an ancient stone of 1706 displays the family arms and declares the decease of: "MATTHEW HOWELL AND ONE OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES FOR HER MAJESTIES PROVINCE OF NEW YORK". The older stone shows that the family utilized these arms at an early date.
