Melvina M. Williams was born in Addison County, Vermont, the daughter of Lampson Williams, and Sarah Mills Derby. She married James Van Howell II 25 September 1850 in Jersey Co., Illinois. James died, 08 May 1896 in Kansas City, Missouri. Melvina, "Mollie" Howell died in Los Angeles, California probably after 1900.
