Abiatha Dean was born in 1822 in Berkley, Bristol Co., Massachusetts, the son of David Dean II, and Tryphena Dean. (Tryphena was a distant cousin of the same family and surname). He moved to Columbus Georgia ca. 1842 where he married Sarah Melton Glenn in 1845. He died in Dighton, Bristol Co., Massachusetts in 1883. The descendants of his son, Charles Thomas Dean continued to live in Columbus, Georgia after his death.
