Clifford Dodd was born in Glasgow, Barren County, Kentucky, the son of William Belknap Dodd and Sallie Amanda Ragland. He moved with his parents to Modesto, California in 1890. He married Florence Irene Howell in 1911, and died at Half Moon Bay in 1940.
