LOFTIS-THOMAS-SEAWELL FAMILY - John Seawell was born in Atlanta, Georgia on 04 April 1907, the son of Alice Neva Thomas and John Flynn Seawell Sr. Alice Seawell moved to Sarasota, FL in the mid-1920's with her three sons. (Tommy Seawell had died in 1917). John took employment with the Ringling Bank and soon fell into favor with the Ringling family. He became an accountant for the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus for many years. He married Elizabeth Hall in 1934 and became the father of one son. He married second, Ilse Wachter, a performer from the Ringling show. Ilse was known locally by her stage name of "Joyce Faye Seawell." John Seawell died in Sarasota, Florida on 28 September 1975.
