* Charlie Doggett Genealogy Page*

Updated December 15, 2010

My primary lines are DOGGETT & PARNELL on my father's side and HARDGRAVE & HUNT on my mother's side. Most of my research has been on the Doggett line. My specialty with the Hardgrave line is my 5-great grandfather, Francis Hardgrave, who is buried here in Nashville, and his small Hardgrave cemetery which I try to maintain.

In the 1980's I self-published a book entitled "The Roots and Branches of Woodie Haywood Doggett and Mary Cornelia Parnell." The roots part was primarily my line of Doggett's from Arkansas back through Alabama, Georgia, and Virginia to Rev. Benjamin Doggett who came from England to Virginia in 1669. The rest of the book was all the aunts, uncles and cousins' family group sheets which are of course out of date now! I have recently retired and just getting back into family research. I hope to do a major update of current families and more extensive research of the historic Parnell line.

I have a personal website at http://www.charliedoggett.net which is linked below. I am working on several family pages within that site with links here of course! My other interest is nature and travel photography and you can read about that on my web site also.

I welcome input from relatives or other researchers to make my family tree more accurate and complete.

Family Photos

  • My Grandfather H.L. Hardgrave as a Young Man (158 KB)
    Circa 1900. This small photo about 5x7 was in my Mother's collection. I know little about it. It is probably before he and Clemmie Verina Hunt were married.
  • My Grandfather W.H. Doggett as a Young Man (230 KB)
    Circa 1907. The original was a large 16x20 in an old antique frame passed down to my Dad and then me. In 2003 I paid about $200 to a professional restorer to get this quality of digital file from the old crumbling original.
  • George Washington Doggett Family Circa 1903 (3463 KB)
    This is my great grandfather and family including my grandfather Wood Doggett in about 1903. I'm not sure, but think they had already moved from Choctaw County Alabama to Bradley County Arkansas.
