Many early settlers of Beekman's Patent, Dutchess Co., NY relocated to the Schaghticoke area in Rensselaer County just prior to the Revolutionary war. It is two of these families which I am trying to trace back further. Johann Michael Overocker and Jacob Stover were found there in the 1740's. I would also like more information on Richard Yates, father of Rachel (1752).I am also seeking the ancestors and descendants of Nathaniel Robinson who served int he 5th Connecticut Regiment during the war of the Revolution and settled in Schaghticoke. He married Susanna Hamblin. Most elusive are the ancestors of my great-grandfather Charles Richard Downing who was born in Brunswick, NY in 1840, son of George and Betsy, but who never lived with them and disappeared until age 20.Other names in my list, William Turner (ca 1805-1812), Koziah Morse (1845), Andreas Guckel (Gigle)(1855), Christina Campbell (ca 1855), Adam Loux, (1834) William Smth (1826) and Joseph Rogers, (1834).Visit my web site for detailed descendancy charts.
