THOMAS:
My Thomas family migrated from NC>SC>AL>AR. I first find Alonzo Thomas in Sebastian Cty, Ar in 1880,living with his uncle Wade H. Thomas and his family.Along with Alonzo their is another nephew, Ed listed on the cencus. Possibly Alonzo's brother. What happened to his parents? I'm still looking!
DOMINGUEZ:
I start with the Dominguez family in La Chontalpa,Tobasco, Mexico. It is said that my husbands'ggrandfather, Santos Dominguez, fled into Belize,Central America to avoid the Pancho Villa War. The first record of any Dominguez in Mexico was the arrival of Pero Dominguez in 1519, a member of a expedition, from Cuba to Mexico, led by Panfilo Narvaez. Narvaez, as well as his men, were eventually taken over by Cortez. Narvaez and his men joined Cortez in his search for the fountain of youth.
SMITH:
After almost fifty years with no contact; my grandfathers
descendents are reunited with the descendents of his brothers. This line connects the SMITHS and BAINES of Texas. My maternal ggrandfather and President Lyndon Baines Johnson were cousins.
WALBRICK/WALBRUCK/WOLLBRUCK/WOLLBRUECK/WOHLBRUECK:
After many years of searching the old fashioned way, I have finally found, with the help of the internet, the brother to my gggrandfather Fritz Walbrick. Carl Wollbruck was born in Madgeburg, Prussia and immigrated to Texas on the advice of his brother Fritz. It may not seem like much to some, but this little tidbit of info has opened a lot of doors in the past few days. Now I focus on the family in Germany...I'm across the ocean!
EPPS:
Fannie EPPS was my maternal gggrandmother. She married Fritz Wallbrick and had three children,in Berlin, before emmigrating to Texas and had three more children once the family arrived in the United States.
